Abstract
Artificial Intelligence has evolved dramatically over the past seven decades, progressing from early symbolic reasoning and rule-based systems to today’s era of deep learning, generative AI, and large language models. This trajectory has been marked by milestones such as the deep learning revolution in computer vision, the arrival of transformer architectures, and multimodal systems capable of integrating text, images, and speech. More recently, agentic AI has emerged, with systems able not only to analyze data but to autonomously perceive, reason, and act in context. These advances represent a profound shift in how machines extend and augment human intelligence, ushering in what many now regard as the dawn of a new technological era.
The implications for industry are already visible. In manufacturing, AI-driven virtual metrology, anomaly detection, and time-series modeling are transforming yield management, predictive maintenance, and process optimization. In healthcare, breakthroughs like AlphaFold have reshaped biomedical research, accelerating drug discovery and personalized medicine. In financial services and logistics, AI-powered forecasting and risk modeling are enhancing agility, efficiency, and resilience. Even in creative industries, from advertising and gaming to product design, generative models are redefining what is possible.
